People you don’t know are dictating how you practice. That's why dental students participated in ASDA’s Advocacy Month in November, themed E Pluribus ASDA.
The month focused on the importance of students advocating together to positively impact the profession and the patients you serve. Students engaged in advocacy-related initiatives throughout the month by taking local action to make a national impact.
All ASDA predoctoral chapters were encouraged to plan and carry out events throughout November.
Here are some of the events chapters held:
- Legislative lunch and learn
- ADPAC drive
- Advocacy-related social event
- Advocacy academy
ASDA Advocacy Molar Bear
For the third year in a row, ASDA's mascot traveled all over the country to help students get informed and involved with advocacy. The Advocacy Molar Bear made it to 64 of ASDA’s 66 chapters!
Take a few moments to check out the bear’s exciting travels by searching #AdvocacyBear and #ASDAadvocacy.
ASDA’s Council on Advocacy recognizes how much effort chapters put into their visits with the Molar Bear. This year, the council selected the chapter with the best Molar Bear video, awarded them with a $100 gift card and showcased their video on ASDA’s social media platforms.
Congratulations to Columbia ASDA
