The Gold Crown Awards Program features a streamlined application process where chapters will apply addressing 6 categories: member engagement, community service, advocacy, health & wellness, member communications and professional development & leadership.

The goal of the Gold Crown Awards Program is to recognize the efforts of our chapters to support ASDA’s mission through chapter programming. Addressing the 6 Gold Crown categories showcases the strengths and value that chapters bring to ASDA.

Award Categories

Gold Crown ASDA Chapter – 11 district finalists are recognized that excel in all six of the Gold Crown categories: Member Engagement and Value, Community Service, Advocacy, Health & Wellness, Member Communications and Professional Development & Leadership. One Gold Crown ASDA Chapter is selected from 11 district finalists. The Gold Crown ASDA Chapter will receive a $1000 monetary award.

Individual Gold Crown Awards – One chapter is recognized in each of the six Gold Crown categories: Member Engagement and Value, Community Service, Advocacy, Health & Wellness, Member Communications and Professional Development & Leadership.

Member Favorite – One district finalist is recognized as the member favorite based on the Gold Crown video submission. The member favorite is selected by the ASDA membership through a ranking and bracket style vote.

Member Engagement and Value - Recognizes one outstanding chapter membership engagement event or chapter member benefit program aimed at increasing member engagement and value.

Community Service - Recognizes one outstanding chapter community service event that creates connections with our communities.

Advocacy - Recognizes one outstanding chapter advocacy event that educates and involves members in ASDA’s advocacy and legislative priorities.

Health & Wellness - Recognizes one outstanding chapter wellness event that educates members and involves members in ASDA’s Five Dimensions of Wellness.

Member Communications - Recognizes one outstanding chapter communication (such as an enewsletter, the chapter website, or chapter social media campaign) that keeps members informed about ASDA.

Professional Development & Leadership - Recognizes one outstanding chapter event that develops professional and leadership skills of chapter members.

Timeline:

November 11 – Submissions open.
December 20 – Submissions close.
January – Council on Membership reviews chapter reports and videos. The Council selects winners.
January/February – Member Favorite Category ranking/bracket voting
February/Annual Session – Individual chapter category winners, member favorite and the Gold Crown ASDA Chapter Award winner are announced at Annual Session. The Gold Crown ASDA Chapter Award winner video is shown during Annual Session. District finalists are posted on ASDA’s website.
February/After Annual Session – Winners highlighted in ASDA publications.
