Opioids aren’t only an issue for dentistry, they are a national epidemic. To help students effectively discuss and combat the crisis, this webinar will provide up-to-date opioid information and examine how experts from different fields are working together against opioids.

  • Personal and professional rewards of community outreach engagement

    Jan 17, 2018 at 8:00 PM

"I HATE going to the dentist."
    “It always HURTS."
"I'd RATHER have a baby than go to the dentist!"
    “It’s always so EXPENSIVE."

These are all frequent and commonly heard phrases from patients, but why and how do we respond as professionals?

As oral health care providers, we should be committed to providing services that go beyond the technical skills acquired in professional school. Investing in heightening the dental IQ of the general public will prove to be mutually beneficial to the patient, as well as the professional.

The focus of this presentation will be to provide participants with the skill set to develop an awareness of the value of investing in community outreach programs, the methodology necessary and the projected mutually beneficial outcomes.
