A strategic plan determines where an organization is going over the next year or more and how it’s going to get there. ASDA's board of directors has adopted the following goals for the 2013-15 strategic plan:

1. Influence decision-making processes by engaging stakeholders on key national, state and local issues.
2. Establish ASDA as the premier professional and leadership development resource for current and future dental students.
3. Increase member engagement and satisfaction to inspire an invested membership.
4. Create and enhance communication, networking and collaborative opportunities.
5. Optimize governance and resource management.
